The first letter
is a reply to my initial request for any information about the loss of Lancaster
ED627. The second letter gives details from his flying log-book about the event
and includes an extract from his radio operators (Hannes Forke) diary giving a
description of
the attack on ED627.
Finally it describes an incident that still haunts him today of a near-miss air collision with a Lancaster returning from the bombing raid over Nuremberg. This event happened after ED627 was shot down. |
